Your result for The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test...

Outcast Genius

78 % Nerd, 57% Geek, 57% Dork

For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in all three, earning you the title of: Outcast Genius.

Outcast geniuses usually are bright enough to understand what society wants of them, and they just don't care! They are highly intelligent and passionate about the things they know are *truly* important in the world. Typically, this does not include sports, cars or make-up, but it can on occassion (and if it does then they know more than all of their friends combined in that subject).

Outcast geniuses can be very lonely, due to their being outcast from most normal groups and too smart for the room among many other types of dorks and geeks, but they can also be the types to eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast Genius.

Congratulations!

If Online Journals have taught me any thing it is that you can learn more about the people on your Friend's-list if you take notice of what they don't reply to than by noting what they do reply to.

Friends who normally defend human rights are suddenly silent on certain issues and you know if those issues applied any where else in the world your friends would be voicing a strong opposition to those crimes against humanity.

Their silence speaks volumes.

Staying silent is no better than voicing support so why is it that people can suddenly defend the indefensible because of some misguided loyalty based on race or religion?

If we don't speak out against all that is wrong then we lose our own morality and all of humanity suffers a decline in ethics.

If you find the above to be true please post this observation in your own Online Journal. Thank you!

Getting old.

I had a fab birthday. I got lots of lovely cards and prezzies and Alexi took me out for a delicious meal.

I'm 26 now. Yikes!!! I remember when I used to be young.

Today was party time for the kids. There was seven parties with different age ranges in different apartments so that all the kids from 0 to young adults had parties.

We also had Zygmunt as Santa again and he gave out gifts to all of the kids. We had something like 480 people in total including kids and adult helpers. All of the kids got prezzies so that we could treat some of the kids who won't get much this year because life is such a struggle for poorer families here with heating costs and everything else going up so much. We know all too many people who work two or three jobs just to survive and they don't have anything for holidays, or luxuries and Christmas. It's pretty dire and it's awful how big the gap between rich and poor is in so many countries.

Anyway everyone had a great day today and Christmas has well and truly kicked into full swing now.

Love to you all!

Stuff.

I've got all my Xmas prezzies bought and wrapped and cards written. I had to get it done because work will be hectic as everyone wants goodies for Chrimbo.

Actually I don't have Luca's main prezzie yet because it isn't out until the 8th of December. He's hopefully getting a Nintendo Wii.

A friend in Blighty told me the other day that there was something saying that it costs 180 thousand to raise a child in Britain and that's going on the last 18 years so obviously it gets to be more and more each year. Well I for one don't know where they get their ideas because that is ten grand a year per child and I don't know many people with much more than that coming in a year no matter how many kids they have.

The people I know are earning 13/15 grand a year with two kids and when they are paying a mortgage and all those bills they can't spend ten grand per child per year so it makes you think how much of a struggle it must be if they really need ten grand per year per child.

Here the cost of living isn't much different and we don't have fifty grand a year for our kids plus money for us and the house and car etc. We don't even have the fifty grand in Euros coming in. We'd need fifteen grand for each child here because of difference in exchange rates so we'd probably need around a 100 grand to match this ridiculous claim at least with money for us and the house etc.

It just shows how the other half live and how the rest of us make do with much less than what we see as massively over inflated amounts.

Christmas wish.

If you could have anything at all for Christmas, what would it be?

No limits on what you choose but it can only be one wish come true.

I was kidnapped by aliens.

I didn't realise it was so long since my last update.

I have been soooooooooooooo busy with my business, with my family and getting ready for yet another Chrimbo.

Things are working really well with Nadirah. She is such a hard worker and skilled too so it's so much better now.

My family are well and beginning to get excited about Christmas. We're trying to get their gifts when they aren't around and it's not always so easy getting what they want here.

We've had great news here recently with my brother Ben and his wife Minerva announcing she is preggers. The baby will be my first nephew/niece on my dad's side of the family. :0)

What do you think?

What does everyone think of Blair's new drive on global warming?

I'm all for the world addressing this problem but how come it's always the poorest people who pay for it because the richer people will just continue driving gas guzzling cars and going on flights etc.

How does Blair expect poor people to keep on paying more and more and more when they already struggle to put food on the table?

Life.

It was Yuri's 6th birthday on Wednesday and Kat and Jay had a huge big party for him. It was Cars themed and all my kids went along and loved it. All the kids loved the film Cars, I did too. Owen Wilson has such a great voice for an animated film.

The weather is still wet and pretty chilly. We can often have good weather all through October so it's been a shocker but at least we haven't suffered flooding like lots of areas have. People have even died in it which is so sad.

It's the local elections here but it doesn't look like much will change. Boooo! Having said that I'm not sure any politicians are worth voting for now. They all talk crap.

Schools are heading into their sixth week of strikes next week. I'm so glad my kids are home schooled. Well Luca is the only one so far although we teach all of them all the time through play, books and a little educational TV.

Amy and Becca only got to teach one week before the strikes started. They job share or at least they would if they could get back to it.

Satistics on poverty.

I was reading this thing about poverty in Blighty and it said that in order for people to be above the poverty line the following applies.

All of the amounts below are weekly and they are what families need after they have paid their mortgage or rent.

Single person. £205
Couple. £250.
A couple with one child. £295.
A couple with two children. £340.
A couple with three children. £385.
A single parent with one child. £250.
A single parent with two children. £295.
A single parent with three children. £340.

If Alexi and I lived in Blighty we would need to be earning £250 as a couple and £225 for the kids. A total of £475 plus whatever our mortgage would be. We'd need at least £600 a week if you include mortgage and we wouldn't be able to make that much, no way José .

The majority of people I know in Blighty aren't on that much money unless they are a family with both parents working or couples or singles with no kids. The two parent working families would then lose most of one wage on childcare so they would still be below the poverty line.

The single parent families I know sure as hell don't get that much in benefits or wages so it looks like Labour have failed miserably on cutting child poverty, doesn't it?

Bargain hunter.

We went to this furniture and soft furnishings sale and bought tons of really lovely stuff today.

I've gone a bit mad for black and white things lately so I bought a lovely duvet set for our room. I bought the kids new duvet sets too. They all wanted and got Cars. It's so much easier when they want the same things.

I also got a nice blind for our ensuite bathroom and a suede look blind for the lounge with matching scatter cushions.

I'm not really that much into shopping unless it's a sale. I'm not one of those women who would shop all the time if I was rich but an occassional bargain hunting session can be fun.

How do you feel about shopping?

Soggy.

It's pretty much not stopped raining for the past two weeks and there has been widespread flooding in some areas particularly around Salonika. Not here!

Thank goodness for a larger house and a play room and thank goodness we had the side garden fitted with one of those canopies that cover the whole area. It's only about 16 foot by 10 foot but it means the kids can get fresh air without getting soaked although Luca does play in the rain with his friends a bit too.

I don't think it's ever rained so much in all the time I've been here and it makes me wonder just how quickly things are changing because of global warming.

Gay Rights.

"Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?" - Ernest Gaines

We would like to know who really believes in gay rights on livejournal. There is no bribe of a miracle or anything like that. If you truly believe in gay rights, then repost this and title the post as "Gay Rights". If you don't believe in gay rights, then just ignore this. Thanks.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

Girls.

Like all little girls Altinay and Mya love to play dress up. They also love to brush my hair and put make up on me. Right now my hair is a frizz and I look like a clown and all of my kids and the neighbours kids are greatly amused. ;0)

Devil people.

I get so annoyed when I hear all this stuff about devil dogs because it is sheer nonsense.

If you train dogs to be guard dogs and then leave them where they can attack and kill a poor baby then it's the people not the dogs who are devils.

Some dogs aren't suited to being around children even before they are trained to be killers. What is it that people don't understand? It disgusts me that a baby is dead, two dogs are dead but the stupid bastards who are responsible get sympathy.

This planet is soooooooooooooo screwed up.
